Into the Bush - Act 3 - Pre-Op Intel for 25Ju

During the assault on the final objective from Friday, an alarm was sounded as Norse Platoon moved further into the objective. At the same time, a helo lifted off from one of the sites ID'd by radio traffic, and travelled to Ho Chi Min City (formerly known as Saigon, and marked on map as such). The helo then proceeded northeast, over the town of Hen San, before it's signal was lost shortly before the old 7th Cav Air Base. Roughly 30 minutes after this helo departed, a report came in from the People's Committee of Ho Chi Min City that Chairman Trần Văn Nam, Ho Chi Min City's leader, was kidnapped. Shortly thereafter, confirmation was delivered by a video recording of the Chairman, gagged and bound to a chair in a dimly lit room. Given our current role in the region, Southern Cross has tasked us with rescuing the Chairman. Not only will this build good will for Southern Cross with Vietnam's government, but will also improve our relations with the local Communist Party, providing additional points of contact for us to leverage in the future.

Mission Intel

- Nothing is currently known regarding enemy presence in Hen San, or the 7th Cav Airbase. It is safe to say, though, that enemy contact is to be expected.
- As a part of their recording, the kidnappers claimed to have an AA asset in the region.

Mission Objectives

Being inserted by helo, then travelling on foot, Norse will:

- Investigate the town of Hen San to verify enemy presence. If present, eliminate and sweep for intel.
- Recon/Assault the 7th Cav Airbase. Search for the Chairman/Intel pointing to his location.
