Due to the significant loss of personnel on Tuesday, Norse has been tasked with supporting the remnants of Aztec Platoon in setting up the final stages of Southern Cross' internet trunk on the island. Given that it is still in it's infancy, and that infrastructure has been limited for a more permanent solution, microwave transmitters are being setup across the island to provide connectivity. A more permanent solution, specifically underground utility lines, are planned over the course of the next six months. Norse Platoon's primary tasking will be to secure the area and provide support to Aztec personnel as needed.
Additionally, with the incident at the cargo ship, the mayor of Saint George will be giving a press conference to Australian media outlets regarding the current situation. According to initial reports from local police, a vast majority of the major criminal elements were present on Tuesday, and a significant drop in both reported crime (as well as intelligence regarding criminal activity) has been noticed. The press conference is scheduled to occur at 11pm EST, and will be televised across Australia (with international broadcasting to occur from a BBC correspondent). Due to PDS' involvement in their elimination, as well as the scale of firepower we bring to the table, Southern Cross has been asked by the authorities to provide additional security for the event.
