Several humanitarian aid sites operated by the International Development and Aid Project (IDAP) had been overrun by militant forces. These sites, which were crucial for providing medical and logistical support to displaced Ukrainian civilians, were targeted in a coordinated effort by the militants. Both locations were secured. Tragically, militant actions prior to Norse Platoon's arrival at the IDAP facilities resulted in the deaths of multiple civilian aid workers and left several others wounded. The incident escalated rapidly, leading to further complications during the operation.

At the second IDAP location, a negligent discharge from one of the platoon members resulted in a friendly fire incident, leading to the death of several civilians. During a brief but intense engagement, civilians were mistakenly fired upon, leading to additional casualties. This tragic event caused significant unrest among the local population and strained relations with the regional government. Immediate efforts to stabilize and treat the wounded were initiated, but the damage was done. Additionally, the explosion of an enemy technical in the town resulted in the destruction of a building, leaving 2 civilians dead and 4 severely injured. Following the incident at the second IDAP site, GSGT Ricks was taken into police custody. Initial investigations pointed to potential negligence leading to the deaths. However, after 24 hours in custody, the regional governor leveraged his influence to secure Ricks' release. While charges were dropped, this event has raised concerns about operational oversight and leadership.

The regional governor also intervened to smooth over the aftermath of the friendly fire incident. His efforts prevented further escalation of tensions with both the local population and the Ukrainian authorities. However, the situation remains delicate, and public sentiment toward Norse Platoon is currently fragile.
