Following a successful assault, PDS and Ukrainian forces captured the Russian airfield, securing the facility and disabling Russian anti-aircraft systems and air assets. As the operation unfolded, a Russian missile frigate (RFS Admiral Zubov) was sunk by NATO forces using two anti-ship Harpoon missiles. However, during the final stages of the airfield's capture, Ukrainian armored and mechanized units moving to secure the eastern side of the airfield were hit by a barrage of Russian cruise missiles, causing significant damage to their formations. Despite these losses, the seizure of the airfield is a critical blow to Russian logistics and air power in the region.
Additionally, the remaining elements from Olympus Platoon conducted a recon of the area surrounding the city of Campeltown, and reported sighting an Akula-class submarine docked in the harbor, raising concerns about Russian naval activity in the region. Further reconnaissance is being conducted by ground forces and satellite imagery to confirm its presence and assess any potential threats it poses to future operations.
