Viridian Abyss - Act 1 - Pre-Op Intel for 09A

The situation on the ground has become what we in the industry refer to as "dynamic". After several rounds of back and forth, the front lines have shifted. In the south, the 529th Mechanized has gained ground, forcing the Russians back to Kirkonkyla. Towards the central areas of the region, the 110th has been gaining and losing ground for the past few days, with them now being roughly 1km further east that previously. They are now running into a fiercer period of combat, with several armor units having joined the 2nd Guards.

In the north, the situation has become dire. After the events of Tuesday, the Russians have made significant headway towards the west. An unknown ground element, being supported by attack helicopters from the 332nd Helicopter Regiment, has forced the 16th Recon to fall into full retreat. This is believed to be in response to sightings and attacks from Blufor elements.

Mission Objectives

As part of our efforts to support the Ukrainian military, our objectives tonight are as follows

- Enter the area occupied by the 2nd Guards and conduct recon to determine their positions (REAL fucking recon)
- With the potential for contact being classified as "certain", the ground element needs to determine if they will take vehicles into the area, or travel on foot prior to stepoff
- Radio contacts up to Company HQ for disposition

Elements from the 110th will be on standby to assist Norse. They will either conduct assaults themselves, or support Norse's assaults based on the current combat actions at the time.

Mission Intel

- No information is available regarding the current composition of forces in the central region. Long range surveillance detected significant activity at the Industrial Complex that was "visited" by the ground element on Tuesday.
- There are confirmed reports of anti-aircraft emplacements in the area. Finding those is a priority
- Ukrainian artillery is unavailable for this mission
- Relay Tower 3 has stopped responding
