Viridian Abyss - Act 1 - Pre-Op Intel for 06A

After Norse suffered significant losses on 02 August 2024, the 110th Mechanized Regiment has taken over the area identified as being under control of the Russian 2nd Guards Motor Rifle Division. While the southeastern front has show progress in pushing back the invasion, the northwestern side of the conflict has gone poorly for the Ukrainians. As a result, the Ukrainian 87th Armored Regiment has replaced the 110th Mechanized. Unfortunately, this quick shift in operational assignments has left the northwestern front low on supplies (both ammunition and fuel).

Additionally, during actions taken on 02 August, a Ukrainian Su-25 was shot down well behind enemy lines. It's pilot managed to survive, and is currently hiding. A recon element, 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, 16th Recon Battalion, was dispatched to rendezvous with the pilot, but has gone dark. Their last transmission was cut very quickly, and little is known of what happened to them.


Mission Objectives

To support combat operations in the region, objectives are as follows:

- Travel to the Ukrainian base in the southwest and escort a convoy of Ukrainian supplies to the town of Uski, where a support point is being established.

Once the convoy is safely at it's destination, Norse platoon will:

- Travel to the last known location of the recon platoon and determine their fate
- Using the recon element's tablet, use it's remote activation function to enable the downed pilot's locator device
- Rendezvous with the downed pilot and escort him out of the area

Mission Intel

- Russian rotary wing elements are currently active in the region, and are providing low-flying CAS support to avoid Ukrainian AA assets
- Intelligence regarding the location of Russian artillery positions has been refined. They are believed to be located at the airfield north of Virojoki
