Ambassador Eléna Marceau, the first diplomatic envoy of the Sovereign Republic of Malden, was killed in an ambush while en route to officially establish the embassy in Saint Kapaulio. As the closest thing to a military presence that Malden has in Venezuela, PDS will oversee her body’s return to Malden. This is a solemn and symbolic operation, under active threat. Our conduct will shape regional perceptions of Malden's strength and resolve.
Primary Objectives
- Escort the ambassador’s body from the embassy to the Venezuelan Military's airfield to the northwest.
- Secure the route in advance and ensure the convoy’s safe passage.
- Control and protect the airfield during ceremonial transfer and until takeoff is confirmed.
Mission Intelligence
- Due to the attack, security has been increased at the embassy. Mounted M2's are in place, and Olympus Platoon have been given orders to detain any suspicious individuals without warning.
- Aztec Platoon is conducting an ongoing investigation into the ambush. Preliminary findings suggest precise targeting aided by either local infiltration or SIGINT assets.
- Local unrest is growing. Tren de Aragua may attempt to disrupt the convoy for propaganda value. Their recent activity suggests they may stage a harassment action or symbolic assault.
- Gulf Cartel elements are present but have thus far not communicated anything to us.
- Local law enforcement will assist but cannot be fully trusted. Compromise is likely.
