With our arrival at Lomé, Togo, we are now preparing to establish a somewhat permanent home. To that end, we have entered into a lease agreement with the Government of Togo to take possession of an old French outpost, abandoned in the 1960s, in the Djangou region of Northern Togo. This area, less than 50 miles away from the borders of Ghana and Burkina Faso, places us in a position to exploit the economies of multiple, highly corrupt countries.
The outpost we are taking possession of is currently in the hands of Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM), a Salafi-jihadist militant force that is active in the Sahel region. In order to establish a secure base for our operations, we must secure the immediate region surrounding the base.
Primary Objectives
- Secure the outpost
- Establish a security perimeter around the immediate area
- Standby for the arrival of Olympus and Aztec platoons, who are bringing our vehicular assets in from the south
Mission Intelligence
- JNIM, while numerous in the area, do not appear to be well equipped. Expect the "standard" jihadist militant.
- From local HUMINT, we know that there is a hostile force currently at the outpost.
- Additionally, the local area is currently being used as a JNIM recruiting area, so expect QRF from the neighboring towns.
- Since no vehicular assets are currently available to Norse, the ground element will be conducting a paracute insert via Chinook.
