Sergei Antonovich Markov, an Eastern European oligarch with major energy and shipping interests, has hired Praetorian to secure his assets in the Arctic against rising threats. Our initial assignment will be in Korsac, just north of the Arctic Circle. Upon arrival, we will begin evaluating his holdings in the region to provide security upgrades. Our objectives for this mission are a recently established oil field to the north, as well as a survey team that is searching for mineral/petroleum assets to exploit.
Credible threats have been made against Markov's business interests in the region. Gaia's Fist, a highly militant eco-terrorism group, have claimed that they will "stop this little man from raping our planet". While on paper we are not to engage unless an active threat is detected.....will anyone really know?
Primary Objectives
- Assess the oil field’s security posture and recommend improvements.
- Check on the exploratory team and confirm their safety.
- Collect and report any evidence of eco-terrorist activity.
Mission Intelligence
- This is not our first encounter with Gaia’s Fist. Their known methods of attack typically include sabotage, arson, and disruption of infrastructure. They have also kidnapped and murdered individuals to "prove their point"
- Markov has contracted a second PMC, Aegis Boreal Security, to guard several sites further north. They will be providing overt defense, while Praetorian’s role is discreet assessment and rapid response to threats.
- Both the oil field and exploration team currently operate with minimal defenses and are considered vulnerable targets.
